Last month at Waterloo Quilters we were shown how to make a “Windmill bag”, sometimes called an origami bag. It’s made of four quilted panels and is a great pattern for using up scraps and for practising quilting designs.
I made mine smaller than some of the online sewing patterns with my panels being 18.5” x 6.5” rather than 24.5” x 6.5”. I used Vilene H640 fusible fleece instead of quilt batting and added a D-ring and swivel clip to the centre.
I thought it to be a very useful and practical size/shape and so made a second as a new baby gift to hold toys or some of the paraphernalia that babies need.
This month I have made good progress on my Wonderland sampler quilt, with the quilt top being finished and the layers pinned together ready for quilting.
Hopefully next month, I will have the final update on this quilt which I started in July 2025.
